8 Nights 9 days Nepal Escape Tour

Day 01 - Arrive Kathmandu.Flower garlands reception at the airport and transfer to hotel.PM:Free for orientation.

Evening:Welcome dinner at Bhancha Ghar, a very good Nepali restuarant for Nepali food,together with Nepalese cultural folk dance program.Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 - Tour of the city which includes Durbar Square, the historic centre of Kathmandu in which the Temple of the Living Goddess is located. In this temple a small girl is selected from a particular clan of craftspeople after extensive ritual, and is declared a goddess. She lives in the temple until puberty, after which she is given a life pension and a new goddess is found. The central courtyard of the temple is superbly crafted, with extensive carving on windows and balconies and an elaborate shrine. Also visit Hanuman Dhoka, a restored palace and temple complex, devoted to the famous monkey-god Hanuman. By the main entrance to the palace complex is a statue of Hanuman. The figure is shielded by a golden umbrella and his face has been covered with red paste by devotees so that his features are now completely obscured. Inside this large compound are many different courtyards and buildings, both religious and secular.

Lunch at the nearby delightful Patan Museum Cafe Garden restuarant,famous for pure,fresh organic food.
Then visit Patan, the second largest city in the Kathmandu Valley. Patan was once an independent Malla kingdom, its origins dating back 2,000 years. The city houses the fantastic 12th century Buddhist Monastery, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, which is among the finest in the country. Its gold-plated roof, courtyard with many prayer wheels and richly decorated three-storied temple are superb. The elaborately-decorated buildings, statues, temples, palaces and shrines found in the Durbar Square here, mostly date from the 17th century, when the artistic patronage of the Malla kings was at its most inspired.

The visit concludes at Swayambunath, a Buddhist temple complex housing a superb stupa set high up on a hill with spectacular views over the Kathmandu valley.Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 - We leave Kathmandu at about 0700 Hours and drive approximately 3 hrs. to Charaundi, our put-in point. After the crew assembles the raft, they will explain the safety equipment and proper procedures.
During the day, we run a numbers of rapids, that rate to 2 to 3. All the rapids have been given Nepali and English names: our guide can relate the story behind each one.We lunch on a beach remarkable for its unique sculptured boulders. Shortly after lunch we enter the Trishuli gorge. As the canyon narrows the walls becomes steep, densely, forested, the current accelerates and the rapids increase in the size and frequency. This is the time to hang on.

After such a stimulating experience, it is humbling to see a Majhi (Fisherman) building his precarious traps in such turbulence. Our last rapid, Jholungepul, is named for an extensive suspension bridge. Here we often encounter an enthusiastic audience, they line the bridge excited to see us pass beneath. The geologic formation are tremendously interesting and not worthy. We camp at Kurintar on a sandy beach on the Trishuli beach. Every one is welcome to help our crew with camp chores. Once the tents are pitched a savoury dinner will be prepare over stoves.

Day 04 - Our second day has a leisurely pace. After we continue down the Trishuli stopping to suit our interests. We spend the whole day within its forested canyon- one of the many in the Mahabharat range. We eat lunch beside the river and have time to explore, birdwatch, photograph and learn about the local people. The area is inhabited by Magars and Gurung farmers, noted for noted for their friendliness and charm and we have an opportunity for visiting a Vieira and we end our River trip and drive to Pokhara.

Arrive Pokhara.Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 - We spend an interesting day exploring the sights and sounds of Pokhara, situated on the shores of beautiful Phewa Lake. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, perfect views of the Annapurnas are often reflected in its tranquil waters. Highlights of the day include Mahendra Cave, a visit to a Tibetan refugee camp, and boating on Lake Phewa. Also, in the late afternoon we can stroll by the lake, row to an island Hindu shrine, or just relax and wait for the sun to set behind the spectacular Himalayas.Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 - After breakfast we proceed by surface (4 to 5 hours) to CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK. This is a wildlife reserve, one of the best managed and preserved, in Asia, where many species of rare wildlife, including the rare one horned rhino, up to four species of deer, sloth bear, leopard, Royal Bengal Tiger etc reside. Plus this is also the home for more than 400 species of exotic birdlife. During the two nights stay here, we undertake, jungle safaris, elephant rides, nature walks, canoe rides etc. We also witness the local Tharu stick dance in the evening.Overnight at Jungle Resort.

On reaching resort, our guest relations officer will brief guest.

1:00 p.m.: Lunch.
3:30 p.m.: Elephant Safari / Jungle Walk / Nature walk with Boat ride.
3:00 p.m.: Dinner.Overnight at Jungle Resort.

Day 07 -
5:30 a.m.: Wake up call followed by tea/coffee.
6:00 a.m.: Bird watching / Elephant Safari / Jungle walk.
8:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
9:30 a.m.: Crocodile walk. A 45 minutes walk through grassland and forest upstream of the Narayani river. Board boats to observe crocodiles along the banks while floating back to the camp.
1:00 p.m.: Lunch.
3:30 p.m.: Elephant Safari /Jungle Walk / Visit Observation Tower /
Nature Walk with Boat Ride.
8:00 p.m.: Dinner.

Day 08 -
5:30 a.m.: Wake up call followed by tea/coffee.
6:00 p.m.: Bird Watching / Elephant
Safari / Jungle Walk.
8:00 AM.: Breakfast. Drive back to Kathmandu.Drive takes abour 5-6 hours.Arrive Kathmandu,transfer to hotel.

The actual program for your stay will be suggested to you on arrival at the Resort. The activities are adjusted to the length of your stay, the season and current weather conditions. Naturally, it may not always be possible to follow this schedule to the minute and you will have to bear in mind that in such an unusual environment, circumstances may require the program to be altered at short notice. On safari in the jungle you will be accompanied by our expert naturalists who will advise on safety procedures and we request that you respect their judgment at all times.For any suggestion or additional requests, our guides or the camp-in-charge will be happy to oblige you.

Evening enjoy a farewell dinner this evening of traditional Newari food.


Day 09 - Breakfast Free until departure transfer.
